SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – Former NFL player Jashon Sykes is now tackling children’s books.
The book is called “Multitask with Jarvis & Dad” and the main character, Jarvis, is a fun, energetic, active, creative, observant little panda that is full of imagination and curiosity.
Jashon said after a short career in the NFL and becoming a father, his life changed.
It was after I became a father to now three smart, inspired, beautiful, and loving children that I found my life calling - to teach and to lead by example starting with our youth,” he said.
He now serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations at two major Universities, and says he “has the opportunity to change lives of college student athletes everyday.”
Sykes says he’s taking his knowledge and leadership skills and putting them into Children's Books.
“Through my Children's Books, kids will learn valuable life lessons, be inspired to love their families, understand moral values, with an eagerness to learn all while spending precious, and valuable moments reading books with their parents, teachers, and of course with me.”
A book launch party will be held on February 24 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hilton Mission Valley. It's open to the public.
